Marina Barrage (Test on Canon SpeedLite 580ex II)

I just bought a Canon speedlite 580ex ii, previously i was considering between Canon 430ex ii and Canon 580ex ii.

I thought i might be underused the 580ex ii, but i got a good deal for my Canon 580ex ii so i decided to get one.

So after i bought that we went to marina barrage to do excursion with my nephews and for me to try out my new flash gun.

I am a newbie on flash exposure, so mind me for my unstable exposure for below pictures, to me its just experimenting.

moreover it was very dark cloudy and raining when we reached there



So here my flash gun came in play.



After a while the rain stopped, so my nephew cant hold to stay on the shade, he ran away to the water fountain in the center.
Then his father tried to hold his hand while he was running around in the wet ground.



Then after a while the sun started to shine very bright and it was very hot.
I had a difficulty to balance out the sunlight.



Then i tried to underexposed about 2 to 3 stops the background so i can get the blue sky and beautiful cloud.







to me these pictures are too dramatical for kids, but its just for me to play around.. hehehe...





Even though i was not really satisfied with my pictures that day , but it was an experiment for me with my flash gun. that im really happy having it.

Canon Spseedlite 580ex II, and YES its a good flash gun and i do not  regret that i bought this because of it has great feature that i like is the external exposure metering, its a good feature to me. However the auto external exposure metering can only be done by 1D but i dun mind using the manual one even though its a little bit too troublesome to use.

Overall its a great and powerful flash if u were thinking of buying one this one is very recommended.
